October 2013 – Forging the Future
How do we prepare disciples for mission in 21st century Scotland? With confidence we return to the example of Christ, whose rule we seek to live under, as we explore his approach to disciple-making. There are lessons to be learned as Jesus sends out the early disciples on mission, where they grow in confidence, faith and joy.
Over and over again in the challenging fire and on the anvil of active mission, the character and the practices of the early disciples are forged, preparing them for the future. So what does it mean for Scottish Baptists to take a hands-on approach to discipleship in the mission field that is Scotland today, that we might be actively involved with our Lord and Saviour in “forging the future” as we seek to make disciples.

April 2013 - Resurrection People
Resurrection and what does it mean to you? In Jesus’s day, they witnessed it. The New Testament writers explained it. Today we are called to be the people of the resurrected King. How the resurrection should shape and impact our mission, life etc. What can we learn from the early church who lived and ‘were church’ in the light of the resurrection?
January 2013 – Hear what the Spirit is saying
As a network of lay preachers’, it’s important that we take time to hear, prophetically, what the Spirit is saying to us. There’s a rightness in creating and allowing space for that to happen so that the body of Christ, of which we are all members, may be built up. We invite you to reorient your spirit to what the Spirit is saying, as we reflect on God’s Word, ask for wisdom to see things from God’s perspective and, as a network of disciples, begin to communally discern and sense something of what The Lord is saying to us at this time in our history and journey.
