ABOUT OUR GUEST SPEAKER
We welcome as our guest speaker this year, Rev Edwin Gunn, former Senior Pastor of Queens Park Baptist Church, Glasgow, now retired from pastoral ministry and a highly respected elder statesman within our Scottish Baptist constituency. Edwin served in pastoral ministry for over 40 years, at Drumchapel (1966-1971), Ayr (1971-1979) and Queens Park (1979-2008), and also was a former President of the Baptist Union of Scotland.
With a prophetic edge to his ministry, Edwin’s heart has always been to help the church remain faithful to her main task and as Pastor of a growing and dynamic fellowship at Queens Park, Edwin saw the church reach out in significant and creative ways in the city. Married to Morag with three
grown up children , Edwin and Morag now make their home in East Kilbride. Edwin’s message is always challenging and relevant for the day, and we are looking forward with anticipation to what Edwin will share with us in our Conference sessions under the title of:-
‘Word and Spirit – The Powerful Combination’
Unpacking what we believe to be a significant theme for us as an Association at this moment in our history and life together, Edwin will, in our morning session help us to consider ‘The Word in Renewal’ and in the afternoon session, ‘The Spirit in the Church’.
‘Come with an open door, an open mind and an open heart to be stirred and challenged’!
